Beef Casserole

For 4 people


• 1 kg beef
• 0.5kg orzo
• 1 spring onion
• 1 teaspoon of ROYAL MEDITERRANEAN® Aglio Olio & Pepperoncino
• A small portion of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
• A small portion of Red Wine
• 2 tablespoons of ROYAL MEDITERRANEAN® Red Roasted Peppers paste
• 1 tablespoon of ROYAL MEDITERRANEAN® Tomato sauce with Cinnamon
• 1 can of Tomato Concassé
• 1 tablespoon of Tomato Paste
• 4-5 allspice granules
• A pinch of salt
• Freshly ground black pepper


Finely chop the onion and sauté in hot oil. Wash the meat thoroughly, cut it into small pieces, add it into the pot, and cook it slowly until all pieces are shielded. Quench with a little red wine and after it evaporates, add the Concassé can. After frying a little, add the Aglio Olio & Pepperoncino, the pepper paste, the tomato sauce with cinnamon and the pepper. Simmer until the beef is soft for about 1 hour and then add salt and water if needed. Simmer a little more and remove from the heat. Transfer the beef to a deep fireproof dish, add the barley or the noodles, boiling water and the spices. Put the utensil in the oven and bake for another 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 180oC.
